South Africa

When done with business, don't forget to see the sites of this beautiful country. Depending one what city you are in you might see the wonderful view of Cape Town from Table Mountain, or take a quick safari through the largest national park in the country, Kruger National Park. Maybe visit Robben Island where former president Nelson Mandela was held prisoner during the apartheid era. If your like me, who loves the beach, check out Long Beach in Cape Town or take the Garden Route to see the scenic lakes, hills, beaches and more. What ever you decide to do remember, business first play later.

Tot siens

Websites on Doing Business....South Africa

I came across many sites dealing with European, Asian, and Latin countries, but it was very hard to find substantial sites with good information. But they were found! The best out of all of these are Global Road Warrior by World Trade Press. This database that can be access through libraries or bought for businesses is thorough and very user friendly.

Basic Info on South Africa

Doing business in South Africa requires good resources and an openness of different cultures. Known for its multiculturalism, several ethnicity are based in South Africa, white European, Indian, colored and black African making it hard to generalize business etiquette. South Africa is a land with great diversity. South Africa is located at southern tip of the continent of Africa. It borders the countries: Namibia, Botswana, Zimbabwe, Lesotho, Swaziland and Mozambique. The climate is mostly semiarid with subtropical temperatures along the east coast given it sunny days, cool nights. South Africa is big on its trade on natural resources, such as gold, platinum, and chromium.

The Republic of South Africa, the conventional long form, has three capitals: Pretoria (administrative capital), Cape Town (legislative capital) and Bloemfontein (judicial capital). Having once ruled by the British in an apartheid government, legal racial segregation enforced, South Africa has sprung up as a phoenix from the ashes.
